Memnon

Memnon is one of the most remarkable figures in Ancient Mythology. He was a great hero, warrior, who was not Greek or Roman but was an African King of the Ethiopians who played a critical role in the Trojan War. Memnon is often depicted as having dark skin and curly, however, much is unknown of this great warrior since surviving historical works have been lost. Although lost, Memnon is mentioned in Homer's the Odyssey, as well as The departure of Memnon for Troy, a black figure vase which is housed in the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels, Belgium.
